Jewelry Editorial in Sunny Barcelona
Barcelona’s light in the beginning of spring has a way of holding both softness and strength in the same frame, something I wanted to explore through this editorial.
Shot with model Franchesca, who I contacted through Instagram and we both got together with the objective of just having fun and shooting some portraits, this series is an ode to minimalism, texture, and presence. The concept revolved around creating a quiet yet powerful visual narrative, where jewelry doesn’t just accessorize, it becomes part of the body’s language.
We worked with natural light, letting the environment guide us. The warmth of the stone walls, the softness of the shadows, and the subtle contrast between structure and skin created a timeless atmosphere. Each frame feels intimate, almost suspended in time.
The photographs were taken inside the café of La Central del Raval bookstore, a space that feels both intimate and timeless.
For this shoot, I used a Sony A7III paired with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, a combination I love for its ability to capture both sharp detail and softness, especially in close portraits. It allowed me to stay close to the subject, emphasizing emotion, texture, and the sculptural quality of the jewelry.
The beauty direction by Anastasiia Kliavinsch enhanced this feeling of understated elegance, clean skin, natural tones, and a look that allows the viewer to truly see the subject. Styling and jewelry by Pamela Bahre brought a sculptural dimension to the images, playing with light and form in a subtle yet striking way.
There’s something deeply intentional about working with simplicity. When you remove excess, what remains becomes more visible, gestures, expressions, details.
This editorial is about that space.
